This section contains basic information and guidance about designing and carrying out impact assessments. We often refer to "Basic Impact Assessment at Project Level" as the 'core text' because it is relevant to all IAs, regardless of type of ED project. It forms a good introduction for the document: "Strategic Impact Assessment and Enterprise Development" which is also relevant to all types of enterprise development but focuses on the strategic level of plans, policies and programmes. From there one is led to " From Impact Assessment to Sustainable Strategic Learning". Finally, A Practical Guide to Strategic Impact Assessment for Enterprise Development provides a methodological framework for assessing the poverty impact of strategic level interventions for enterprise development with tools and techniques that can be used in applying the SIA approach.
